Few projects in the history of South Florida's growth have created as much public interest as the transformation of Truman Annex. When Pritam Singh and Ann Johnston purchased one of the nation's oldest Naval Stations at a public auction in September 1986, they began a planning process that encompasses the people of Key West, the state of Florida. the Federal Government, and one of the most talented and experienced development teams in the country.
Once an obsolete and dilapidated military base. Truman Annex was beautifully transformed by The Singh Company into a vibrant mixed-use community comprised of 525 resort units and 60,000 square feet of commercial space. The redeveloped Truman Annex successfully extends Key Wests pedestrian dominated street-pattern and historic 'conch" architectural style.
The Singh Company's expertise in the planning and development of large-scale resort communities is exemplified at the Truman Annex, whose neighborhoods include a wide variety of housing types including luxury single family homes, high-end condominiums and apartments, and several variations of quality affordable homes.
Throughout the Truman Annex redevelopment, The Singh Company was also responsible for the preservation and restoration of more than 20 historic structures, many of which are listed on the National Register of Historic Places (including President Truman's Little White House, now a public museum).
