Home Away From Home
Planning a getaway with friends or a family reunion across the generations? At Tranquility Bay, guests can sprawl out in one of our spacious two or three-bedroom beach houses where private porches look out across the sparkling Gulf of Mexico. The “home away from home” feeling invites relaxation with everything a group needs under one roof, including a fully-equipped kitchen, large living/dining area, 2.5 bathrooms and laundry facilities.
For families on a budget, our super comfortable double queen tropical garden guestrooms offer a more intimate space, yet remain larger than a standard hotel room. The surrounding gardens and palm-lined pathways are perfect for strollers and wildlife spotting, with iguanas lazing and pelicans soaring high.
Safe by the Sea
Just steps away from your private porch is the soft touch of our white sand beach, where families can stay safe in the shade of our towering palms. The gentle subtropical sea is shallow, making it an ideal choice for little ones to make a splash and keep cool in the spring sunshine. There’s beach volleyball and a nearby putting green by Nicklaus Design to keep all ages active – even little crawlers who can explore the smooth green before the rest of the resort wakes up!
Adventures With Nature
For nature-loving families, the wild beauty of the Florida Keys provides a perfect playground for all ages. Weather year-round is beautifully warm to explore the natural wonders of the island chain, in and out of the sparkling waters.
Grown-up kids seeking adventure can choose from a range of onsite activities offered by Turtle Island Watersports, including Wave Runner rentals, kayaking, snorkel lessons, scuba diving classes, or setting sail from the dock to enjoy blue water offshore fishing for the whole family in the Atlantic Ocean.
Authentic Keys Cuisine
Savor the delicious Spring Break escape with a morning smoothie at our beachside TJ’s Tiki Bar, or perhaps a lunchtime tropical salad or light bite from the tempting new menu. Later in the day, it’s the perfect spot for soaking up a spectacular sunset with your favorite freshly-made cocktail in hand. Families love to gather for a private feast in their own beach house, or why not book a special dinner at our award-winning Butterfly Café, which features a Little Caterpillars menu for younger diners.
Family-Friendly Spring Break Fun
Directly next door to Tranquility Bay is one of Marathon’s most famed attractions, The Turtle Hospital. Visitors can enjoy watching a variety of turtle species swim around their rehabilitation tanks during guided tours, with a behind-the-scenes look at the recovery of injured turtles.
Other nearby attractions include the Dolphin Research Center where families can experience in-water encounters with dolphins, and the exciting Aquarium Encounters – anyone fancy feeding a nurse shark? You can also stroke starfish and handle conch in a tidepool.
